3D shapes

In Year 3 we have been looking and making 3D shapes. We had a choice to make a cube or a square based pyramid. We learnt about edges, vertices (vertex) and faces. Here is how we made the 3D shape.

1. First we had to decorate our shape.

2. Next we had to cut out our shape.

3. After that our class had to fold all the bits on the black lines.

4. Finally we had to stick all the small bended bits.

At the end our shape could stand up.

Hope your child knows everything about shapes!

Christmas prom

On the 3rd of December where having a Christmas prom.
This afternoon we made posters presenting the Christmas prom. We used pencils, felt tips and crayons. We put information into our posters and we drew a picture. We designed the posters. We made sure they didn't have any white bits and we put a lot of effort in it.

French Birthday cards

In French, year 3 has been learning how to say Happy Birthday. (Bon Anniversaire). After we had learnt it, we made fantastic French Birthday cards. They were portrait or landscape, most pupils preferred portrait. We put on flowers and balloons using tissue paper and sugar paper. It was so much fun.

First we had to make our design in our Art books.

Next we got a coloured piece of card and we had to fold it in half.

After that we decorated our cards by putting on flowers and balloons.

At the end we were allowed to put on glitter.

In French Happy Birthday was Bon Anniversaire.

Bon Anniversaire birthday people.

Last night it was bonfire night. Today we made firework pictures.we had to think carefully what we was doing. And we used pastels and we used yellow ,red and orange piece of papers. We made fire out of papers. We used blue papers for the background and black papers for the buildings and we used different colours for fireworks.
On Wednesday we had a brass band.It was very fun the french horn is longer then it looks. They played the simpson song.

The puppet show

Year 3,2,1 and nursery where watching a puppet show. The puppet show was called the selfish giant.
Some people thought this bit in the puppet show was scary.
But I thought it was not scary at all. My favourite
characters were these three children. Because
at the beginning they were so funny.
The man you made the selfish giants was

Oscar. He`s dead now.
The characters are Mr giant, Billy
Rosy, Daisy, North Wind,
Mrs Snow, Mr Frost and Lord Wind. I
think it`s called Lord Wind.

Bonfire night

This week as you now it was Bonfire night on Thursday.
Year 3 wrote a poem about Bonfire night.
Here is one of them, written by Swastika.

Remember Remember,
The 5th of November when Guy Fawkes tried to blow the king.
The kings name was king James
and he lived in Parliament,
Guy Fawkes and his friends wanted
to blow up the king.
He took 36 gunpowder barrels and hid
it under the Parliament,
He wanted him dead because he was a horrible king,
At the end Guy Fawkes was caught
and torchered.
Bonfire day Bonfire day
lots of rays of fireworks ,
The colours are bright in rows of
Blooming magenta,
hot pink and flaming colours in the jet black sparkling sky.
There sounds are
BOOM, FLASH and CRASH
