Night poems

This week we have been doing night poems.

This is work from Jamima:

The night sky poem

The bright moon descends behind the fluffy clouds,

Bats squeaking whilst looking for their lovely prey yum.

The stars sparkling through the night,

The night is still silent ssshhh.

Bats squeaking, Owls hooting and mosquitoes whining.

Laura's work:

A shooting star zooming across the sky,

Bats sqeaking searching for their prey.

The stars twinkle in the night sky,

The bright moon is hiding behind the fluffy white clouds.

Gregory cool paintings

On Wednesday 3F were focusing on a picture from the book Gregory cool. We described it and had a go at painting it with some watercolour paints. We drew our pictures very lightly with a pencil before we actually painted them so we knew where to paint when we painted them. We had to think about the colours we used because the picture was from the night and we couldn't use too bright colours.

It took us a very long time because we had to concentrate and put alot of effort into our pictures. We have all worked really hard and we have nearly finished them. Here are some of our work. We hope you like our work!

Gregory cool

This week in year 3 we have been reading a book called Gregory Cool. The book is about a boy called Gregory who goes on holiday to Tobago to see his grandparents for 4 weeks. He also has a cousin in Tobago called Lennox. He does not like it very much in Tobago because he is not used to the country. The house that Gregory's grandparents live in is vey small and Gregory doesn't like it very much.
The house didn't even have a proper door! Gregorys room in the story doesn't even have any toys, books or any carpet! Eventually in the story Gregory gets used to the country and starts to like Tobago.

If you would like to read the first few pages of the book click on the picture.
