space

This week has been ARTS WEEK!

We have been doing loads of fun. We have been learning about SPACE! We turned paper plates into orbiting planets & we have also been making space scenes, dioramas,A massive collage & A big ROCKET so we could go to space!!! That's only a joke. On Monday we have been doing some word searches,on Tuesday we've been making some scary/funny aliens and some foam UFOs.

We done the same on Wednesday, then finally on Thursday & Friday we've done a whole lot of things.

We are going to show 3D's fantastic work.

So look carefully at the work:

Earth is the 3rd planet away from the sun.

The sun is the biggest star & it's 2000x bigger than the earth.

The milky way is not in our solar system.

Pluto might not be in the solar system.

Jupiter is the biggest planet in our solar system.

Arts week

This week in glade it has been arts week. Every class was given a topic to do art with.Year 3 were given space as our arts week topic. We had lots of fun making things. On Tuesday we made some UFOs out of foam. Mr Fraser gave us a template to draw around onto a piece of foam. We had to cut our drawings out and we stuck different pieces of foam onto our UFO. We all really enjoyed making them and they all turned out to be very good.

Teeth & bones

This week we've been learning about teeth & bones.

This is Emma's work:

INTRODUCTION
People use their teeth to bite & chew food.
They also help us to say certain sounds.
People have 2 sets of teeth in the mouth.

PRIMARY TEETH
Most babies are born with no teeth showing.
The 20 teeth erupt during the time from 6
months of age to 2 years old.

PERMNENT TEETH
When primary teeth fall out 2 are replaced
by 32 permanent teeth (also called adult teeth.)
During the time 6 to 14 years old. As 2 permanent
teeth forms under the gum & in the jaw bone the roots
of the primary tooth is replacing disolve.
The primary tooth becomes loose and falls out.
The permanent-tooth will fill the space.

Victorians

In year 3 this week, we have been looking at the Victorians. They didn't have washing machines to wash their clothes because they were not invented! Instead they had washing boards so they could wash their clothes in the river.
