Christmas Play dress Rehearsals

On Friday the 11th of December Year 3 and 4 were practising the Christmas play, called Santas On Strike. On the rehearsal day for the first time we all wore our costumes (not all of us.) In this
story Santa is on strike so what will convince him to love children again? The elves are very shocked, Mrs. Santa is very heartbroken and the reindeers are unfit and they are getting really fat. There are 8 songs called Ready for Christmas day, Santa`s on strike, Pitching in and Helping out, Puppies are not just for Christmas, Give a little time, It`s Blast of for Santa`s sleigh, It was on a starry night and Away in a manger.
On Monday the 14th of December we are going to show our Christmas play to the school, on Tuesday the 15th of December at 10:00am we will also be showing it to parents with children under 5 and at 18:30pm we are going to show it to our parents (strictly parents only).
Happy Christmas everybody!

French Nativity Booklet

This week in year 3 we have been making french nativity booklets. We had to colour our booklets. Before that we had to fold the paper and after we had to colour it in and we had to be careful. It was in french writing so we had to write it in English and it was really hard for some writing and it was really hard.
We had to fold it and cut the top and we fold it again and it made the booklet and we had to check it through and when we checked it, it was good but most people did finish and some didn't finish.

Christmas Calenders

In D.T and R.E we made Christmas Calenders. Some pupils did Christmas trees, snowman and others chose presents.
We got to use coloured glitter, thick felt and some card.
On the Christmas tree we made the star popping up and the balls were flat, on the present we got to choose where we wanted the glitter and on the snowman some of the hats were popped up.
The mini calender was 2cm on top of the card near the bottom.

Here is how we made them.

1. We got a piece of card.

2. Secondly we got coloured felt.

3. Next we chose our picture made drawn on felt using templates.

4. After we stuck on our mini calender on the piece of card we stuck the felt in.

5. Finally we were allowed to put on shiny glitter.

Happy Christmas everyone!

3D shapes

In Year 3 we have been looking and making 3D shapes. We had a choice to make a cube or a square based pyramid. We learnt about edges, vertices (vertex) and faces. Here is how we made the 3D shape.

1. First we had to decorate our shape.

2. Next we had to cut out our shape.

3. After that our class had to fold all the bits on the black lines.

4. Finally we had to stick all the small bended bits.

At the end our shape could stand up.

Hope your child knows everything about shapes!
