Victorian lettering and weather reports

In year 3 in art we have been looking at Victorian lettering. We had a go at writing our names in Victorian letters. We looked at some on the internet and in some booklets. We all tried our best at copying some letters. We had to be creative and gentle. Mrs dhadwal picked her 5 favourite pieces of work. The people who were chosen were Lorina,Yasin,Chloe,Adilah and Ashley. We havent all finished yet. Mrs Dhadwal showed us an example of her old year 3 class. When we coloured our letters in we had to use very bright colours. We were told not to use dark colours or it would spoil our design. We had to use colours that go together.

In Literacy we have been learning about weather reports. We watched some weather reports and weather forecasts and had a go at writing are own weather reports. We had to use phrases and words that are said on weather forecasts on tv.

St.George & calculators

This week we have learned about St. George the true story. We are going to show some lovely pictures and some stories.

This is one of the stories written by Rajan:
George's dad was in the Roman army & when George's dad died George joined the army.
George was so good in the army that he went to Nicomedia to protect the emperor.
The emperor wasn't kind at all. He told George to kill all the christians. But George refused. So the emperor killed George.

Because George was so brave people wore the red cross to remember him.

King Edward the 3rd said we shall call George St. George. They made a church named after him. The Queen still uses it today.

Also we done calculators. We hope you enjoy!

St George's day

In year3 we have been learning about st Georges day and we have been told the true story of George and here is the story about George.

Saint George lived in Turkey he joined the roman army as soon as he was old enough, and he was a soldier because his father was a soldier.

George was not just any kind of soldier, he was in charge of many soldiers. He gave commands and told the soldiers what to do and said everything that the soldiers needed to know.

One day George was sent to nekomedia in front of the emperor, and the emperor kill the christians but George said no! because George was a christian himself. So the emperor commanded him to get killed.
